About Ric and Shelley Nelson
We are proud to be a part of the Lasting Impressions family, and are equally proud to be parents of a Lasting Impressions student.
Ric, a Chisago City native and the youngest of four children, has been working in the field of social services for more than thirteen years. In addition to owning and operating Lasting Impressions, Ric is currently an active reservist Chief Petty Officer (SCW) for the U.S. Navy Seabees.
Shelley, a Hastings native and only child, knew early on in her freshman year of college that she was destined to build a career in the educational and human services field. Shelley’s career path all started with a volunteer job in which she did pool therapy for two wonderful children with special needs as well as an amazing group of stroke victims. All of Shelley’s personal and career experiences has lead to her position today as owner and operator of Lasting Impressions. Shelley holds a degree in Psychology from the College of St. Catherine and has been working with children ages 2-17 for the past ten years. In addition to her years of experience in child development, she has experience working with both adults and children with special needs.
Owning and operating Lasting Impressions is a dream come true for us, we both believe there is nothing better than nurturing children as they grow and learn each and every day. Our commitment to creating a positive and nurturing environment for our staff and our students is based not only on the desire to foster such a warm environment, but also on our belief that it is these values that will make Lasting Impressions a success.
