Preschool utilizes Work Sampling as a tool that aids teachers in collecting information on a child's work and compare it to grade specific guidelines. If helps us to identify what children are learning, what they are beginning to master, and what they need to continue to work on.
The seven domains of focus are:
The prekindergarten program will provide activities and support specifically tailored to meet the needs and interests of the children. When making our lesson plans, attention is given to all areas of learning such as math, science, phonics, and literacy. We incorporate our theme for the week through the different interest areas in the classroom: dramatic play, art, blocks, science and discovery, library, music and movement, cooking, and sensory. Second Step curriculum is also used in the preschool program as part of our weekly curriculum. This curriculum is set up to help children learn and practice social-emotional skills. This includes making friends, learning how to solve problems with other children, and managing their own feelings.
Parent teacher conferences are held twice a year utilizing work sampling tools to discuss progress and milestones.
Our Prekindergarten program will focus on helping your child practice and gain confidence in their self-reliance and decision making abilities. As your child’s autonomy and independence grows more pronounced, our teachers will provide the appropriate support and encouragement to help focus their self-awareness into a usable tool for their development. Additionally, our PreK program will build upon the love of arts and books that our previous programs have worked to develop. Our Prekindergarten program develops skills needed for Kindergarten readiness.
Parents receive daily communication from your child's teacher through our app Daily Connect. This lets you know what's happening in real time with your children.
We offer tours of our classrooms during regular business hours 7am-6pm. Our final tours are offered at 5:30pm. Request a time that works for your schedule, you will receive same day confirmation.
